Extremism is not the basis for governing the country. It passes is small towns and helps people in limited instances. The problem is giving extremists the equivalence in debate as if their policies have ever been successful, or even have credence. Creationism is fiction. Climate change denial is an opinion, not science. Religious extremism was nipped in the bud when the country was founded, yet we still have to school Christian extremists on separation of church and state.
